What ATMs can do

  • Contactless withdrawals – simply enclose a contactless card, payment sticker or mobile phone
  • Topping up credit and payments to mobile operators – our ATMs not only enable topping up credit with any operator, but also the payment of a regular telephone invoice
  • Change your PIN – you can change your PIN for both Visa and Mastercard
  • Selection of banknotes – most of our ATMs will offer up to 3 banknote combinations when selecting cash

At some ATMs you can also deposit money

You can make a withdrawal, but also deposit money free of charge with almost all ČSOB and Poštovní spořitelna accounts:

  • Current accounts
  • ČSOB/Poštovní spořitelna credit card accounts
  • Term Deposit or Savings Account (within the disposal period)
  • another account at ČSOB or Poštovní spořitelna if you know the number

The maximum number of deposited banknotes is 200. You can deposit banknotes with a nominal value of CZK 100 to 5,000. You get a printed document with the breakdown of the deposited banknotes each time.

With deposits made before 8 p.m., the money is immediately credited to your account. If you deposit money at a later time or on weekends, it will be credited to the account the next working day.

TIP: Download the ČSOB CSOB Smart application which will guide you to the nearest ATM. With ČSOB CSOB Smart you can manage your account from anywhere.

Deposits can only be made with a plastic card - cards in mobiles are not yet supported.

Our safety tips

How to protect your PIN and card

As soon as you receive the PIN from us, remember it well. Never write it down on the payment card, do not carry it on a piece of paper in a wallet, and do not share it with your family, bank employees or even the police or retailers. Do not lend the card to anyone. You would expose yourself to the risk of card misuse.

A payment card is not the only way to get ATM access

If the ATM is located in a safe zone and you need to slide the card through an entrance reader, you can practically use any non-banking card with a magnetic strip.

How to withdraw money safely

Before using the ATM, check the card slot and the opening for banknotes. When entering the PIN, stand close to the ATM and always cover the keyboard with your hand. At the end, do not forget to take the cash, credit card and receipt. Before leaving, put everything in a safe place. Never leave an ATM before finishing the withdrawal.

Contactless withdrawals

For contactless ATMs, you can withdraw cash simply by placing your card to the reader and entering a PIN. This prevents the risk of skimming, which can only occur with normal card use. If you leave before the transaction has been completed, the ATM will switch to the introductory screen after a short period and you will need to touch the card on the reader again.

Skimming

This involves copying the magnetic strip of payment cards and is used to produce illegal card copies for fraudulent use. This can happen directly at an ATM or when opening a door using a card.

How to protect yourself against skimming
  • Always protect your PIN and do not let anyone look over your shoulder
  • When entering your PIN, cover the keyboard with your hand
  • If you suspect anything unusual, do not insert the card into the ATM and please contact us without delay
  • Use a card other than the one you are going to use to make the withdrawal from the ATM to enter an ATM safe zone
Bar for holding money

This is used by fraudsters to hold cash inside an ATM and create the impression that the machine did not issue the money. As soon as the client leaves the ATM, the fraudster removes the bar with the cash.

How to protect yourself

Before using an ATM, check whether it looks normal and that there are no signs of unauthorised tampering. If the ATM does not issue the cash without a notification on the screen, contact us immediately on the +420 495 300 300 line and do not leave the ATM.
