In order to improve security and comply with the requirements of the legislation (the Payment System Act and relevant European directives), we are modifying the process of logging in to the ČSOB CEB service.

As of July 15, the so-called strong authentication will be introduced to the ČSOB CEB login process. If you log in with a username and password, you will also need to confirm your login in Smart Key. The login process will remain unchanged for smart card users.

Activate your Smart Key now, and you won't have to think about it anymore

Smart Key is a smartphone application that enables comfortable confirmation of requests in the ČSOB electronic banking, which means also in the ČSOB CEB service.

How do I get Smart Key?

Smart Key can be downloaded from Google Play (Android) or App Store (iOS) free of charge. You can also use the QR code below to be redirect right to the download page.

How do I activate Smart Key?

To active Smart Key, use an activation code. You can get the activation code:

On the ČSOB Identity portal
  1. Go to identita.csob.cz and enter your ČSOB CEB credentials.
  2. Select “Smart Key” and continue by pressing the “New activation code” button.
  3. The QR code for downloading the application is displayed first, then the QR code for its activation will appear.
  4. 3. Launch the Smart Key application on your phone, grant the permissions necessary for the application to function properly, and use the “I have an activation code” option to scan the code displayed in your browser.
  5. Activation must be confirmed on the ČSOB Identity website – use the “Finish” option and verify your identity with an SMS code (or a chip card) to get Smart Key ready for first use.

If you use the InternetBanking 24 / Internet Banking service to manage private accounts, you will be able to use Smart Key in this service instead of entering SMS codes sent to your phone.

In the ČSOB CEB service using a chip card

To complete the activation of the Smart Key application in the ČSOB CEB service, make sure that one of the authorization methods (chip card or Smart Key on another device) is active. If you don't use a chip card, you can activate the Smart Key application on the ČSOB Identity portal.

  1. In the CEB service, select Settings, Security and “Smart Key”. Select “New Smart Key” to get the QR code for downloading the application first, then the QR code for its activation. ČSOB CEB - Smart klíč ČSOB CEB - Nainstalované aplikace Smart klíč
  2. Launch the Smart Key application, select “I have an activation code” and scan the QR code displayed in the ČSOB CEB service.

  3. Complete the activation process in your browser in the ČSOB CEB service. Verify your identity with a chip card to get Smart Key ready for first use.

    If you use the InternetBanking 24 / Internet Banking service to manage private accounts, the activated Smart Key application will replace the SMS key method. This means actions in InternetBanking 24 / Internet Banking will also be verified in the Smart Key application.

At an ATM using your ČSOB payment card issued in your name
  1. Select Smart Key in the ČSOB ATM menu. An activation code will be generated and then printed on the transaction receipt together with the QR code for downloading the application.
  2. In the Smart Key application, which you have downloaded to your phone, press the “Activate” button, grant the permissions necessary for the application to function properly, and then select “I have an activation code”.
  3. Scan the activation code from the ATM receipt, then choose your PIN or enable fingerprint authentication to finish the process.

If you use the InternetBanking 24 / Internet Banking service to manage private accounts, the activated Smart Key application will replace the SMS key method. This means actions in InternetBanking 24 / Internet Banking will also be verified in the Smart Key application.

In the Internet Banking or InternetBanking 24 service
  1. You can activate Smart Key this way if you use the Internet Banking service (or the original InternetBanking 24 service) to manage private accounts.
  2. After logging in, select Settings, Applications and Smart Key (or Set-up, Security, Smart Key in InternetBanking 24).
  3. Follow the instructions in the browser. The QR code for downloading the application will be displayed first, then the QR code for its activation.
  4. Launch the Smart Key application, select “I have an activation code” and scan the displayed QR code.

Choose your PIN in the application to complete the activation process. Smart Key is ready for use both in the ČSOB CEB service and in the Internet Banking service.

What if I don't have a smartphone?

If you don't have a smartphone, you may log in to the CEB service with a chip card. If you don't have a chip card yet, it will be issued to you at any ČSOB branch.
