Overview of cash operations

Cash deposit/withdrawal in CZK and foreign currencies (foreign exchange see the exchange rates list in/from an account at CSOB).

Foreign exchange operations – purchasing or selling foreign currencies (foreign exchange see the exchange rates list).

Exchanging cash in CZK.

How do I deposit cash in my account?

New!

At the cash desk during opening hours at any CSOB branch you (or an authorised person or a third party) can depositcash denominated in CZK or a foreign currency in an account at CSOB or another financial institution. CSOB is entitled to limit the scope of foreign currencies deposited by third persons. A third person can only make deposits to a current account and a credit card account.

Through a deposit ATM any time of day or night cash in CZK can be deposited by a CSOB card holder.

What are the benefits of depositing cash through deposit ATMs?

  • You are not tied to the working hours of a branch,
  • Depositing is free of charge,
  • Faster because you do not have to wait in the branch office.

For more information on deposit ATMS.

For deposit-related fees see the applicable Price List .

How do I withdraw cash from my account?

At the cash desk during opening hours at any CSOB branch you (if you are a holder, or an authorised person) can withdraw cash denominated in CZK or a foreign currency from an account at CSOB.

Through an ATM at any time of day or night cash can be withdrawn by a payment card holder from the account for which it has been provided. For more information about the location of CSOB ATMs.

What are the benefits of cash withdrawals by a card from ATMs?

  • You are not tied to the working hours of a branch,
  • Depositing is less expensive than at cash desk,
  • Faster because you do not have to watt in the branch office.

Through private cheques cash can be withdrawn by third parties who have neither the right to dispose of a CSOB account nor a payment card for an account held in CSOB.

For cash withdrawal-related fees see the applicable Price List .

Useful things to know?

If a cash withdrawal exceeds the cash limit set on the CSOB board of a branch, you must report the amount to be withdrawn two working days in advance as set out below:

  • in person or by fax on a Withdrawal Notification ,
  • by phone through your personal/corporate banker or hotline 800 300 300.

If you want to withdraw an exact number of banknotes and coins, the cashier will ask you to submit a list of notes and coins 3 working days in advance.

You may also be asked to provide a complete list of banknotes and coins if you:

  • deposit more than CZK 50,000 in cash or the equivalent in a foreign currency,
  • deposit more than 50 coins,
  • exchange cash (only in CZK).

Due to the legal duty you may be required to produce proof of identity whenever you make any deposits and withdrawals. For selected types of operations you will be asked to disclose the origin and purpose of the funds.

In some locations the range of cash services may be limited (their range is always published in the premises of the branch).

Non-cash payments are always cheaper than deposits/withdrawals at branches:

  • cost savings on fees,
  • no queuing at the cash desk,
  • everything can be paid through electronic banking from your home/office.

It is also advantageous to pay for goods and services by a payment card:

Exchange rates used in cash operations:

  • foreign currency purchase – purchasing a foreign currency or depositing a foreign currency in an account,
  • foreign currency sale – selling a foreign currency or withdrawing a foreign currency from an account,
  • foreign exchange purchase – withdrawing an amount in CZK from an account denominated in a foreign currency,
  • foreign exchange sale – depositing an amount in CZK in an account denominated in a foreign currency.
