Logging in to Internet Banking Services

1. ID Number and PIN

Enter your ID number, PIN and press the log in button.

If you enter an incorrect:

  • ID number you will be asked to re-enter it (no restrictions),
  • PIN you will be asked to re-enter it twice; upon entering an incorrect PIN for the 3rd time the service will be blocked (visit any CSOB branch to unblock it).

2. ID Number, PIN and SMS Key (CSOB InternetBanking 24 only)

Enter your ID number, PIN and press the log-in button. In the following screen, enter the SMS key (authorization code sent to your mobile phone in a text message) and enter the service by pressing the confirm button. You have 10 minutes to enter the SMS key; it becomes invalid after this time limit.

If you enter an incorrect:

  • PIN, you will be asked to re-enter it twice, upon entering an incorrect PIN for the 3rd time the service will be blocked (visit any CSOB branch to unblock it),
  • Key, you have to log in again and make a new request for it. Upon entering the wrong SMS key for the 5th time, the service will be blocked (visit any CSOB branch to unblock it).

3. Chip Card with an Electronic Signature

Before logging in, first install the chip card and its reader Administrator (SecureStore, ComfortChip or CryptoPlus depending on the type of card). Then, put the chip card into the reader and leave it there for the whole time you use the electronic signature.

Notice:
During the 1st login, the browser may request your consent to install the component necessary for working with the card (request for administrator authorization).

Enter the PIN to the chip card (received together with the card). You will then be logged in to the service using the electronic signature.

If you enter an incorrect card PIN you will be asked to re-enter it twice, upon the 3rd incorrect attempt the card will be blocked. To unblock, it use the PUK (received in the same envelope as the card PIN) in the Chip Card Administrator.

Authorization Methods

Electronic Signature

One of the main identification and authentication tools on the Internet. In the CSOB InternetBanking 24 service, it is used for the authorization of active operations. It is generated from data (private and public key + certificate) saved on a chip card protected by a PIN in order to achieve maximum security. The high security level is achieved by the fact that the data never leaves the card (it can not be copied) and the electronic signature is also generated in the card’s chip.

The computer communicates with the chip card through a reader (USB, PCMCIA), which we offer when setting-up the service and which you may also use for other purposes.

To allow the chip card and its reader to work correctly, follow the Chip Card Administrator installation procedure (SecureStore, ComfortChip or CryptoPlus depending on the type of card), which provides:

  • communication between the chip card and the computer
  • changes of the card’s PIN/PUK
  • working with keys/certificate saved on the card (you can register and un-register both of these).

You can find the instructions for the installation of the reader incl. installation files and other information in the User Manual to the given Chip Card Administrator or under Help.

A necessary precondition for communication using the electronic signature is the so-called certificate (data message) issued by a certificate authority (I.CA). The certificate connects the data for signature verification with the signing subject and, thereby, allows verifying your identity. We will register your certificate at our branch when you set up the service. For the CSOB InternetBanking 24 service, we offer the Twins certificate which contains 2 certificates – you log in to the service with the commercial one and sign operations with the qualified certificate. The qualified certificate is accepted by law (like an ID) for the communication with state administration, health insurance companies, etc. (more information on www.ica.cz ).

The validity of the certificate is 1 year. You must renew the certificate’s validity directly in the CSOB InternetBanking 24 service (the renewal will take aprox. 20-30 minutes) before the expiration date. During the renewal, you can not change any of the certificate’s data. If your certificate expires or if you want to modify the certificate data you must have a new certificate issued at a Registration point. You can block the certificate through Helpdesk of electronic banking or at any CSOB branch.

SMS Key

Another method of authorization of active operations in the CSOB InternetBanking 24 service. If you have the SMS key activated when setting up the service you will receive an SMS message in your mobile phone with the one-off authorization code for the given operation after entering the active operation and pressing the “send authorization code” button.

The code consists of a 9-digit alphanumerical key (lower case letters and numbers), which is divided into groups of three separated by hyphens for better clarity (e.g. asd-v1b-gh7). You have 10 minutes to enter it into the specified field on the screen starting with the moment you receive the code. By pressing the send button you send it to CSOB for processing.

If you enter the authorization key incorrectly five times the service will be blocked (visit any CSOB branch to unblock it).

Note:
If you have the CSOB Mobil 24 service, we will send you the SMS key as a coded SMS message.
