The Guide On Non-Documentary Payments

Dear Clients,
We would like to provide you in this way with basic information that will inform you in greater detail about the given topic, about available options and about conditions for non-documentary payments, and which will make it easier for you to complete respective forms used at CSOB.



Transfers abroad and in foreign currencies in the Czech Republic

Basic Terms
Non-documentary payments Cross-border and domestic foreign exchange transfers.
Domestic foreign exchange payments Transfers executed in the foreign currencies:
  • on the territory of the Czech Republic (SEPA Credit Transfers if necessary conditions met),
  • within the CSOB branch network in the Czech Republic,
  • between accounts of a CSOB client in the Czech Republic.
Cross-border payments Transfers executed in foreign currencies (SEPA Credit Transfers if necessary conditions met) or in CZK:
  • from abroad to credit a CSOB client’s account (“incoming payments”),
  • to abroad to debit a CSOB client’s account (“outgoing payments”).
SEPA Credit Transfers Transfers executed in EUR which have to meet following conditions
  • transfers executed within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) (i.e. EU/EEA member states (EU member states plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and Switzerland)
  • amount transferred from the payer to the beneficiary without any deduction
  • account number of both payer and beneficiary is in the IBAN format
  • both payer’s and beneficiary’s bank are identified by BIC code
  • SHA charge code (payer and beneficiary pay the charges of their own bank)
  • no specific or additional requirements for processing
SEPA Single Euro Payments Area covering geographically all European Economic Area (EEA) member states, – i.e. European Union (EU 27) plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein – and Switzerland.
Transfers to EU/EEA Transfers executed to EU/EEA in the currencies of EU/EEA member states these states which have to meet following conditions:
  • beneficiary´s acount in the IBAN format,
  • beneficiary´s bank in the BIC code,
  • SHA charge code (the payer/beneficiary will bear the fees of his provider).
CSOB is entitled to change automatically the OUR or BEN charge codes stated in the payment order of client into the mandatory SHA charge code.
Intermediary banks in the EU/EEA member states are entitled to reject or return transfers, event. to collect additional charges if the above mentioned conditions are not adhered.
Due date The day when the funds are debited to the current account of the orderer (payer)/CSOB client according to an instruction given by the orderer (payer) /CSOB client in the payment order
Point in time of receipt of the payment order order Occurs a stipulated time after the payment order is delivered to CSOB; for payment orders, the funds are debited from a CSOB client’s account at the recept of the payment order (for direct debit orders, the order is processed at the receipt of the payment order) provided that all the below stated terms and conditions for the execution of the payment order are fulfilled.
  • proper infilling of payment order in accordance with the GBTC and product terms and conditions,
  • delivery of the payment order by the deadline determined by CSOB,
  • providing sufficient disposable funds for execution of the payment transaction and the respective fees in the client’s account,
  • fulfilment of other terms and conditions as may be stipulates in the legal regulations
Charge codes
  • OUR – all charges are paid by the orderer (payer):
    the orderer (payer) pays all charges, i.e. the charges of CSOB according to the current Price List, the charges of the beneficiary’s bank and, if applicable, charges of other intermediary banks in the transaction chain (so called additional OUR charges). The beneficiary does not pay any charges in this case, i.e. he/she gets the amount according to the orderer’s instructions (so called “net payment”);
  • SHA – the orderer (payer) /the beneficiary pay the charges of their own banks:
    the orderer (payer) pays the charges of CSOB according to the current Price List, the beneficiary in another bank pays the charges of his/her bank and, if applicable, charges of other intermediary banks in the transaction chain;

    SHA charge code is the only possibility for the execution of the SEPA Credit Transfers and transfers within EU/EEA member states in the currencies of EU/EEA member states;
  • BEN – all charges are paid by the beneficiary:
    the orderer (payer) does not pay any charges (neither CSOB’s, nor the beneficiary bank’s charges). The beneficiary pays also the charges of CSOB, i.e. he/she gets the payment amount reduced by the charges of CSOB according to the current Terms and Conditions for Bank Correspondents. He/she will also pay the charges of his/her bank, and, if applicable, charges of other intermediary banks in the transaction chain.
Unique identifier Is the combination of characters, digits or symbols by which according to the provider’s/CSOB specification the user or his account is identified while payment transactions are executed. If the payer states an incorrect unique identifier of the beneficiary which results in an incorrect transfer the payer’s provider will make every effort to make sure the funds are returned to the payer.

The unique indentifier means for transfers within EU/EEA member states in the currencies of EU/EEA member states:

  • beneficiary´s account in IBAN format
  • beneficiary´s bank in BIC code.

The unique indentifier means for other transfers: standard account number of beneficiary and name and address of beneficiary and further BIC code of beneficiary´s bank or national bank routing number and name and address of beneficiary´s bank.
BIC - Bank Identifier Code
  • international identification code of the bank which enables the unique identification of a respective financial institution in the given country;
  • the BIC code is also necessary to identify the intermediary banks which occur in the transaction chain when executing the transaction;
  • the use of BIC code is obligatory for the execution of the SEPA Credit Transfers and also for the execution of transfers to EU/EEA member states in the currencies of EU/EEA member states.
IBAN - International Bank Account Number
  • a practical international bank identifier which makes it possible to carry out an unambiguous identification of the number of the client’s account in the respective financial institution in the given country;
  • it is a complete identification of the client’s account number, including the bank code and the country code (International Bank Account Number);
  • in any case, neither the existing bank account number nor the bank code are changed;
  • the use of the account number in the IBAN format is obligatory for the execution of the SEPA Credit Transfers and also for the execution of transfers to EU/EEA member states in the currencies of EU/EEA member states (see ISO codes of selected member states and ISO codes of their currencies).
Business day Is a day when the payer’s provider and the beneficiary’s provider are executing the payment transactions usually conduct the activities necessary for execution of this payment transaction.

 


Options and conditions for execution of transfers
Transfers in foreign currencies or in CZK to foreign member states
  • printed form ORDER FOR TRANSFER ABROAD AND A DOMESTIC TRANSFER IN FOREIGN CURRENCIES
  • client’s single instruction to execute a transfer in foreign currencies (including the SEPA Credit Transfer) or in CZK to the credit of a beneficiary’s account maintained by a foreign bank abroad
  • this form can be also used for standing transfer in case above with notification of frequency, the first date of transfer and the last date of transfer (if applicable) in field “Other instructions”
Domestic transfers in foreign currencies
  • printed form ORDER FOR TRANSFER ABROAD AND A DOMESTIC TRANSFER IN FOREIGN CURRENCIES
  • client’s single instruction to execute a transfer/payment in foreign currencies to the credit of a beneficiary’s account maintained by other domestic bank in the Czech Republic (including the SEPA Credit Transfer)
  • this form can be also used for standing transfer in case above with notification of frequency, the first date of transfer and the last date of transfer (if applicable) in field “Other instructions”
Foreign currencies transfers within CSOB branch network
  • printed form ORDER FOR TRANSFER
  • client’s single instruction to execute a transfer in foreign currencies to the credit of a beneficiary’s account maintained by CSOB in the Czech Republic (this also applies to foreign currencies transfers between accounts of one client at CSOB in the Czech Republic).
Outgoing non-documentary payments

CSOB executes transfers to abroad and in foreign currencies in the Czech Republic:

  • to the debit to clients’ current accounts held with CSOB
  • on the due date as per the payment order if the client meets all of the conditions set by CSOB and the valid legal regulations.

CSOB is entittled at transfers to abroad and in foreign currencies in the Czech Republic:

  • to determine the method of processing the payment and to use its correspondent banking relation at its own choice and discretion.
Incoming non-documentary payments

CSOB executes transfers from abroad and in foreign currencies in the Czech Republic:

  • to the credit of clients’ current or savings accounts held with CSOB;
  • on the same business day after the amount of the transfer was credited to CSOB’s account and CSOB received, from the orderer’s bank, necessary details for the provision of the amount of the transfer to the beneficiary at transfers in the currencies of EU/EEA member states (on the following business day at the other transfers).

 


Delivery of the payment order to CSOB
To Branch CSOB
  • the relative form „Order for transfer abroad and a domestic transfer in foreign currencies“ to be delivered at the counter of CSOB branch (for this form it is prohibited to use the collecting box)
  • the extra charges is collected for the transmission of the written payment order
Via CSOB Electronic Banking Services
  • delivery of the electronic payment order via means of CSOB electronic channels of distribution: CSOB line 24, CSOB InternetBanking 24, CSOB BusinessBanking 24, CSOB MultiCash 24, w1se
  • the favoured charges is collected for electronic transmission of the payment order
  • the optimal charges is collected for electronic transmission of the SEPA transfer
Charges all charges applicable to the execution of transfers to abroad and domestic transfers in foreign currencies are set up in the valid Price list – part F. Payments, Money and Exchange Operations

 


Substantial essentials of the payment order to abroad and in foreign currencies to CZ
Orderer (Payer)
  • the number of the current account of the orderer (payer) /CSOB client to the debit of which the transfer/ payment shall be executed
  • the name and the address of the orderer (payer)
Beneficiary
  • the number of the beneficiary’s current account at the beneficiary’s bank to the credit of which the payment shall be executed
  • the name and the address of the beneficiary (including the name or ISO codes of the countries – see below)
  • for SEPA Credit Transfers and transfers to EU/EEA member states in the currencies of EU/EEA member states it is obligatory to state the beneficiary’s account number in the IBAN format
Beneficiary´s bank
  • the name and the address of the beneficiary’s bank (including the name or ISO codes of the countries – see below) which maintains the beneficiary’s account
  • the BIC code (Bank Identifier Code)/ SWIFT address of the beneficiary’s bank or national banking routing code of the beneficiary’s bank (for example, BLZ, CHIPS, FEDWIRE and the like)
  • for SEPA Credit Transfers and transfers to EU/EEA member states in the currencies of EU/EEA member states it is obligatory to state the beneficiary´s bank in the BIC code
Amount of transfer Numerical value of the amount of the transfer (including indication of decimal places).
Currency of transfer Indication of the currency of the transfer (ISO codes of the currencies – see below).
Purpose of transfer Information for the beneficiary about the purpose/reason of the transfer (to foreign member states in a foreign language).
Charge code
  • OUR – all charges are paid by the orderer (payer)
  • SHA – the orderer (payer) /the beneficiary (receiver) pay the charges of their own banks; this is the only possible charge code for the execution of the SEPA Credit Transfers and transfers to EU/EEA in currencies of EU/EEA member states
  • BEN – all charges are paid by the beneficiary
Orderer’s reference Identification of the transfer for orderer (payer) /CSOB client (stated in the client’s account statement).
Orderer’s contact person The name and telephone/mail/fax of the orderer’s (payer´s) responsible person.
Due date
  • if not given, CSOB shall set the due date no later than the business day following the day when the payment order was delivered to CSOB
  • this means the day of execution of the transfer and the day of debiting the account of the orderer (payer) /CSOB client – see above
Date of issue If not indicated, the date of the delivery of the order to CSOB is applied.
Signature according to signature specimen or other verification key if contractually agreed with CSOB Please contact customer officers to obtain information about further available ways of making the account more secure.
