Current Accounts

What documents do I need to open a current account for a private individual?

If you are a citizen of the Czech Republic, all you need is your ID card.

What documents do I need to open a current account as an entrepreneur?

If you are a citizen of the Czech Republic, all you need is your ID card + a document proving your licence to do business (e.g., trade licence, document proving your registration by the relevant professional chamber etc.).

What documents do I need to open a current account for companies? Who can open this account?

You must submit the original copy or a certified copy of the documents proving the establishment (or existence) of the legal entity and the currently applicable manner of acting of the statutory body. The account can be opened by the executive officer of the company who is registered in the foundation agreement or in the foundation deed.

What documents do I need, as a non-resident, to open a current account as a non-resident?

You must submit your passport + possibly other documents according to our requirements (e.g., driving licence, diplomatic card or identification card).

Can I transfer the account between the division Postovni sporitelna and CSOB? If so, what are the fees?

Yes, you can. And the account number will also be preserved. Officers of the ČSOB branch to which you wish to transfer the account will complete, together with you, an application for the transfer. The fee for the transfer is CZK 200.

When it is necessary to submit a confirmation of study to apply for a ČSOB Student Account Plus?

Applicants under 19 need not prove their studies. For you to be able to benefit from the account, you must submit a confirmation/document proving your studies if you are older than 19:

  • when the account is opened – along with the application for opening the account, you must submit a confirmation/document proving your studies and indicate the assumed length of your studies (during this period, you do not have to prove the indicated type of studies and the school),
  • over the course of the account – after reaching 19, you must submit a confirmation after the end of the school year when you reached this age (i.e. 31.8.). You must prove the not-yet finished current studies as well as every new type of studies started between your 19th and 28th years.

If because of ill health or for other reasons you do not manage to finish your studies by the assumed time (originally proved), you can prolong/renew the benefits of the account by submitting (even repeatedly) a new confirmation, however not later than the date when you reach 28. The benefits of the account are renewed only after submitting the confirmation.

When college or university students ask for an overdraft credit, they must always prove their studies.
