Most Frequently Asked Questions of Job Applicants

I have problems entering a selection procedure, what should I do?

Difficulties registering in a public tender may occur for several reasons. Most frequently this is because the candidate has already registered and repeated registration in a public tender is notified as ´duplicate data´ by the system. In this case please continue as a registered user. If you have forgotten your registration data the system can resend it to your e-mail address.

Another reason why the system announces a problem may be an outdated version of your internet browser. Also please check that you don’t have the “pop up blockers” function switched on in your browser.

Here are some brief instructions for setting up your browser:
Mozilla:
Adjustments -> Preferences; Privacy&Safety -> Automatically opened windows ; here you can either generally allow automatically opened windows, or you can allow them only for selected pages.
Firefox: Tools -> Options; Web properties; here you can either generally allow automatically opened windows, or you can allow them only for selected pages.
Netscape: Adjustments -> Preferences; Privacy&Safety -> Automatically opened windows of Windows; here you can either generally allow automatically opened windows, or you can allow them only for selected pages.

If you continue to have problems with logging into our selection procedures or if you have any other questions, please contact us at kariera@csob.cz

I have recently seen an advertisement of yours in the newspaper that I would like to respond to, how should I apply?

Our web site www.csob.cz contains all our selection procedures, in the section Career with us, Available positions . This overview is continually updated and unless the deadline for applying has passed, you will find the position here. You can apply for each job offer in the selection procedure by filling in a questionnaire and attaching a curriculum vitae.

Can I apply for several selection procedures? Do I have to then fill in the electronic questionnaire every time?

When a candidate registers for the first time his data is accepted and saved. Subsequently, he will be given a login name and password. If he registers for another public tender he will be in the position of a registered user with login data. Therefore he does not have to fill in any other information.

How do your selection procedures take place?

To a certain extent, the proceedings of a selection procedure are individual, depending primarily on the type and level of position being filled. Generally, the process can be summarized as follows:

  • a selected employee of the Human Resources Management department does the first selection based on candidate applications (he especially discards those candidates who do not meet the required criteria from the advertisement),
  • the next selection of applications is then usually made by the manager of the department for which the selection is being done and the pre-selected candidates are then invited for a personal interview,
  • the personal interview usually takes place in the presence of the manager and the relevant specialist of Human Resources Management
  • other selection methods are also used for selections to some specific positions, e.g. specialist or psychological tests and Assessment Centres.

I have just graduated from university; what positions can CSOB offer me?

New graduates are a significant group of prospective potential employees of ČSOB and therefore it pays great attention to them. Currently, we are offering them a placement in the training programs “Partridges” or “Corporate Banking Bachelor”, as well as positions for graduates of universities, colleges of higher education and high schools. These are mainly positions of Client representatives, Private bankers and Firm bankers-juniors in branches all over the Czech Republic. You can find further information on the pages Work opportunities for students and graduates.

I am interested in the position of Client representative at a branch. How does the preparation and training for this job take place?

All new employees of the branch network go through the entry preparation. This consists of training courses focused on the knowledge of products, bank applications and systems as well as on developing sales skills. Courses held as part of the entry preparation take place in the bank’s education centres in Prague and the training is supported by practical preparation (internships) at selected ČSOB branches. The total length of the preparation depends on the work content of the employee, e.g. for an employee in the advisory zone it is approx. 3 months.

What are the education and career growth possibilities at your bank?

At CSOB it is in our main interest to support our employees in developing their knowledge and skills as much as possible and to create possibilities for their career growth both throughout the CSOB group and the KBC group. You can find more information on the web page Education and career development in CSOB.

What knowledge of foreign languages will I be able to use actively at your bank?

In most CSOB departments you will be able to use English; the extent depends on the type and level of the work position. In some specialized departments knowledge of German, French, Flemish, Italian, Polish and other languages is also useful.
