Accepting payment cards in foreign currencies (Multicurrency)

Card transactions in foreign currencies (EUR, USD, GBP) can be directly accepted by our clients who operate shops. The service can be provided through an electronic payment terminal, and in the environment of your e-shop (e-commerce).


We provide the acceptance of foreign currencies for the following types of cards:


  • Visa, Visa Electron, V Pay,
  • MasterCard, MasterCard Electronic, Maestro.

Benefits

  • Accepting cashless payments in CZK, EUR, USD and GBP,
  • Arranging the Multicurrency service is completely FREE OF CHARGE,
  • Transactions can be cleared with no conversions and exchange rate differences,
  • Transactions can be cleared to various foreign currency accounts of a merchant,
  • Card transactions are cleared on the day after the transaction,
  • Extended services,
  • Acquiring new, mostly foreign clients,
  • Payment card holders can pay in the currency of their card, thus there are no exchange rate differences,
  • Reducing the number of complaints because of the impossibility of recognizing a payment on the statement after conversion to the currency of the payment card holder account.

Terms of use

  • Bank account with CSOB/Postovni sporitelna,
  • Card transactions in CZK can only be cleared to the CZK account,
  • We can combine the clearing of foreign currencies according to the merchant’s/shop’s wishes (for example an EUR payment can be credited to any foreign currency account in EUR, USD, GBP or CZK),
  • If a merchant/shop is interested in the Multicurrency service, all foreign currencies (USD, EUR, GBP) are automatically available,
  • The Multicurrency service can be agreed for direct acceptance in shops (POS) or for acceptance in the e-shop environment (e-commerce),
  • The Multicurrency service cannot be combined with the CashBack service,
  • The structure of electronic statements changes (PDF, TXT) with the introduction of the Multicurrency service.

What to do if you are interested in the Multicurrency service

  • Contact us at the e-mail address akceptacekaret@csob.cz, or contact your sales representative in the Payment Card Acceptance unit.
  • Consequently, we will contact you about concluding the contractual documentation (or an appendix to the existing contract on payment card acceptance) and then the payment terminal will be installed (or the application adjusted).
