Drawing Bank Cheques

A service intended for private individuals, private individuals-entrepreneurs and legal entities in order to simplify cashless payments to settle due amounts arising from business and other relationships to pay for goods and services or withdraw cash.

Benefits

Bank cheques are among cheques of the highest quality because they can be purchased by any bank after verification of the drawer’s signature(s).

Among other benefits are as set out below:

cheques may be denominated both in the national currency and in freely convertible currencies,
drawees are represented by a large network of correspondent banks all over the world,
cheques may also be drawn if the person ordering the payment does not know recipient’s bank details,
no collection fees are charged by CSOB if a cheque drawn to CSOB as the drawee is honoured and coverage is ensured at CSOB.

A cheque is:

a payment order,

defined by essential particulars based on law.

CSOB (the drawer) draws a bank cheque at the order given by its client (the payer) to another bank (the drawee) for cashless clearance or encashment to the recipient (the authorised owner) of the cheque.

Terms of Use

We draw cheques only for cashless clearance and to the clients who have established current accounts at CSOB who are

private individuals,
private individuals-entrepreneurs,
legal entities.

The client’s order shall have to be submitted on the “Bank Cheque Order“ form. The drawee may be another bank or the CSOB Head Office/branch (except for the department/branch drawing the cheque).

The principles for the issuance of bank cheques are stipulated in the Terms and Conditions for Drawing and Acceptance of Cheques at CSOB.
